We have not posted in a very long time!
It was wonderful to see family and friends over the Christmas break. We had a baby shower for our little girl, whose name is Audrey Claire. The baby shower was so sweet and beautiful, a huge blessing and a really great time with family and friends. Now that we are back home, we are starting to unpack the things we got from the shower and start to get the nursery nook ready. We are calling it a nursery nook because it will be a little part of our bedroom. Will is going to make a room divider/panel, like those Asian panels to put as kind of a wall sort of just so it will feel like two spaces. We are also going to paint an Aspen tree on one of the walls. We have cleared out our closet and taken the doors off to make the nook space bigger. We are excited! We already have the crib and a rocker plus lots of other baby things. The only big piece of furniture we need is a dresser, so I’m hoping to find one today at a thrift or antique store. Once we find the dresser, we will paint it and put some fun knobs on and it will be like new!
In other news since we last updated…. Will got a new job restoring antique furniture, mostly chairs and he is in the cane/rush seat business. He really loves his job and it’s perfect for managing school/classes too. He will be finished with classes in May!! He won’t officially be done with school then but he will be done with classes. We are both really excited.
Here a some recent pictures. We haven’t been on many hikes this past fall because I’m not supposed to be doing recreational activity above 8,000 feet. There’s barely any hikes that low so we’ve mostly been hanging around Denver. We did go to Breckenridge for Oktoberfest which was really fun and we checked out the changing leaves at Maxwell Falls hike in Evergreen. Also we have been crafting a lot this fall, making things for family, friends and ourselves!

It’s a girl! After we found out we had several friends come over and we made cupcakes frosted in pink to serve with tea! It was fun 🙂
For Will’s birthday, we went to Shostakovich’s Symphony– it was awesome!
I also made a reese’s peanut butter cake for Will– he loves chocolate and peanut butter together.
My mom came to visit us– she made us yummy food and we went shopping. It was so fun!
My mom gave us the gift of a sewing machine. The first thing we made was a blanket for Audrey. Both Will and I made it together but he did the tricky parts like threading the machine and figuring out the bobbin etc. We look forward to sewing more! Our next project is sewing the fabric for the room dividing panel.
Painting the nursery nook– the white space was our old closet.
Thanksgiving 2013— in Manhattan, KS. It was so relaxing and fun to spend time with grandparents and Uncle Paul!

We got donuts at a new donut place in Aggieville. It was so fun, and there were games on all the tables so we played some kind of charade type of game.

This is my friend Stacey who is also pregnant and due a week before us! We were at a baby fair event in this photo, winning prizes!
Here’s our new car seat! We were so thrilled when a friend got it for us before the baby shower.
Will’s early Christmas present was this nice jacket– it was kind of an emergency because we had a week of below 10 degree weather and he walks/bikes everywhere. He likes it and it’s super warm.
Here is a little collage of our first baby shower. It was amazing!
We got to spend some time with friends over the break too. These are some of my closest girlfriends. Two of them are going to missionaries soon overseas and another one is a nurse in California so it was pretty cool that we all got to hang out!
This is our good friend Jordan. She went to college with us, had been a close friend for years and she took our engagement photos and now took our maternity photos! It was really special that she was available to take these photos for us. She is still editing them, but here are a few favorites so far:
Oh yes and here is Will making hostess gifts for the amazing hostesses for our baby shower. I helped, but he is so quick with putting ingredients together etc.– he is so good at making things!
They are Rosemary bath salts. We will probably use this idea again!
Happy New Year!
